What to do after an auto accident

    We hope you never need it, but in case you do, use this checklist to know what to do after an auto accident.

    1. Stop
    2. Determine the extent of injuries and damages
    3. Move out of traffic and/or turn on hazard lights
    4. File an accident report with police
    5. Discuss the accident only with the police
    6. Write down this important information:
      • Make & model of each vehicle involved
      • VIN # and license plate # of each vehicle involved
      • Drivers License #, full name and contact information for each person involved
      • Full name and contact information for each passenger and witness
      • Details and diagram of the accident (photos too if possible)
    7. Call your insurance agent
