The New Jeep Grand Cherokee: What’s All the Buzz About?

The designers at Jeep knew what they were doing when they revamped the Grand Cherokee back in 2011. And the changes they’ve made have given drivers something to talk about.

With its sleek new body style and two engine options -- the 3.6 Liter Pentastar V-6 for those who are fuel-conscious, or the 5.7 L Hemi V-8 for those who want to put the hammer down -- the Jeep Grand Cherokee has caught some well-deserved attention. Forty-five safety and security features, including advanced multistage driver and front-passenger airbags, Electronic Stability Control and a four-wheel Anti-lock Brake System with rough road detection are standard.

On models in the Advanced Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control Group, features like Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection are available.

To pass Jeep’s Trail Rated tests, a vehicle must pass checks in five categories: traction, ground clearance, water fording, maneuverability and articulation. The Grand Cherokee easily passed in all categories.

On- or off-road, the JGC consistently scores high for power and capability, giving drivers peace of mind. Jeep offers three solid 4x4 systems to choose from -- the Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II or Quadra-Drive II.
